Termination of Lease Letter of Intent

Use this letter when you have been renting a property, such as a house or apartment, and intend to terminate your lease. Be sure to send this letter at the appropriate time; review your lease for guidance on this issue. For example, many leases require tenants to notify the landlord of intent to terminate the lease 30 or 60 days before the tenant will be moving out of the property. I am writing to notify you that I intend to terminate my lease at 3301 Seaside Boulevard in Ocean City when the current lease ends on September 30, 2010. I am sending this letter at least 30 days before the lease ends, per the requirements written in the lease.
